The Babywearing Hipster
These are some of my favorite carries, but I will add more as I go. You can also follow my babywearing board on Pinterest, where I add videos and tutorials on all types of carriers. Feel free to pin or bookmark this page for future reference. If you find a particular babywearing video helpful, please send them my way and I can post them here.
Front carries
Great for newborns, infants and snuggly little ones. You can do front carries with any type of carrier: stretchy Moby, woven, SSC, mei tai, etc.
Front Wrap Cross Carry (FWCC) - this carry is for stretchy or woven wraps, and perfect for newborns and small infants.
Semi Front Wrap Cross Carry with a size 2 woven wrap and slip knot
Knotless Front Cross Carry

Mei Tai Front Carry
Hip Carries
Good for heavier children and for quick on-the-go carrying. Got a toddler who won't let you put him/her down when you are shopping or taking a walk? Hip carries are a fast way to wrap your child and be hands-free, and are easy to practice. Most people do hip carries with only woven wraps, but you can also do a hip carry with an Ergo carrier. **Note: the safest hip carries are done with woven wraps only, as stretchy wraps are for smaller infants under 15lbs, who are normally too young to hip carry.**
Coolest Hip Cross Carry (CHCC) - one of my favorites!
No No No Hip Carry (no rings no sew no tie)
Robins Hip Carry
PAXbaby Poppins Hip Carry
Back carries
You can back carry your infant safely as soon as they are strong enough to sit up. Some experienced wrappers back carry sooner; the best way to practice is to wrap over a bed or to have someone "spot" you. I back carried my daughter at approx. 4 months old, but many wait until 6 months. **Note: do not ever use a stretchy Moby-type wrap for back carries. Only woven wraps, mei tais and SSCs are safe for back carries.
Wriggle-Proof Back Carry
Secure High Back Carry
Double Hammock with Candy Cane Chest Belt (DH CCCB) - my favorite back carry for heavier toddlers
Ellevill Jordan's Back Carry with Candy Cane Chest Belt - another good option for heavier babies; the candy cane chest belt helps distribute the weight across your chest rather than solely on your shoulders.
Double Hammock Rebozo
Frankencarry - this one requires rings, which can be purchased from slingrings.com. I love the finished look of this carry and think it must be perfect for the beach!
