Drawstring Knapsack Tutorial
This is a great tutorial that doesn't require a printed pattern. I made this as a "Big Brother to Be" gift for a friend's son. I used a Neverland Treasure Map fabric and a contrasting print for the straps. I stuffed the finished knapsack with gold chocolate coins, a pirate puzzle from the dollar store, a pair of boxer briefs that I made for him out of a pirate knit, and an inexpensive felt pirate hat from Walmart. He loved it!

Heart Shaped Pot Holders
These are fun beginner potholders that are great for using up scrap fabric. I even ended up using an old thick sweatshirt for the inner material, so I didn't even have to purchase batting, just doubled up on the inner fabric. I skipped the bias tape, too. This was one of my friend's first sewing project and they turned out great!
